Aim of this lesson is
to introduce the user to the main functions of the
software. Subjects: background image, use of primitive 3D, apply texture, and
mask use.
CREATE A NEW
PROJECTO
1. Enter in the
Project menu> New
2.
In the New Project window set the 800x600 pixel
resolution, click on “Load Image” and select
C:/Programs/3DGeniuX/Tutorials/002/Bathroom.jpg 3. Click
on “Create”
NOTE: All lessons are located in the main folder where
3D GeniuX is installed, usually in
C:/Programs/3DGeniuX/Tutorials
CREATE THE 3D FLOOR
1. From the Model
Libraries rollout a on the right of the interface select
"Primitives", then select “Plane”.
2. From Colour
rollout on the
right of the interface select white colour. In 3D GeniuX the base
colour of the object melts with an adding mode to the Texture that
will be chosen for the surface. Choosing white as a base colour will
not affect the colour of the Texture.
3. From the Object
Position rollout insert the three rotation values shown in the
picture.
4. Click on the Move icon
and to manipulate
the object without any limit and bring the plane at the floor level
on the photo. Then use Rotate Scale to
cover completely with the 3D plane the floor on the picture. These
values can be inserted also from the Rollout Object Position on the
right of the interface. See Also Object Position Rollout.

DISEGNO DELLA MASCHERA
1. From
the tool bar click on “Enable Mask” ,
the 3D plane disappears because the mask is hiding it
completely.
2. From the
Mask rollout regulate the Brush dimension and Transparency as
shown in the picture.
3. Click on
Line Mask and with
the LEFT button of the mouse start drawing the borders of the
floor. To be clearer, we represent here the polygon in
blue. The user will notice that, going on with the
drawing, the brush strokes will cancel the photo and make the
3D plane visible.
It
is fundamental to draw a closed polygon, and then you can exit
the command by clicking with the RIGHT button of the
mouse.
4. Select the
Fill Mask command and
with the LEFT button of the mouse click inside the polygon
area previously created. The command will fill the internal
zone, bringing part of the 3D created plane in the
foreground.
5. Click on
the Property window, click on “Load Texture” ,
and on “File type” select "Bmp files (*.bmp),” and load
C:/Programmi/3DGeniuX/Tutorials/002/Tile.jpg mapping the 3D plane with the loaded
photo.
6. Modify U=3
V=3 values to increase the number of
tiles 7. Modify A=182 value to make the
3D plane slightly transparent and let appear the reflections
of the original picture.
8. Varying R G B values you can also
change the tiles colour. E.g. R=253 G=113
B=167
